Hello! Are you new to the Casual Ramble? Well, what if I told you there was more than what you see here? What if I told you there was more exclusive poetry, early access to essays & other creative works (like short films!) available on my Patreon & it’s all available for as low as $1 per month? And what if I told you the link below can show you more? Would you click it?
The Casual Ramble Aug. 31 2026
I am returned, happily, from Minnesota.
I didn’t forewarn anyone here, nor did I really think to write out my apprehensions alike my excitements, but I feel it necessary to say I was gone & now I am back. Returned, happily
Not because I dislike Minnesota or because I am a stubborn shut-in, but for the simple truth that every apprehension turned out lovelier than I had feared & every excitement better than I could have imagined.
I explain this more in-depth on my upcoming poetry post for the Casual Ramble Patreon, scheduled for this Thursday, but I truly was worried that this trip would turn out worse than it did.
Instead, I was drunk at a campground, teaching my cousin’s kids how to spin a contact staff & banter with family members under the starry skies of northern Minnesota, wondering aloud if I should make a move before my next adventure to Australia.
Anyhow, it’s back to working on Lyrics, my first ever poetry collection, & preparing for Kindle, the premiere flow arts convention in the Pacific Northwest.
This will be my first Kindle ever, a fact that still sends my friends in the flow arts community into a state of mental calculus as they try to rack their brains for a memory of me out on the Oregon coast. some refuse to even it’s possible.
A part of me kind likes the idea of continuing not to go. Just to be subversive, y’know?
But we are not listening to that part. Not today, not tomorrow, not for Kindle & not for the Casual Ramble.
