Howdy, Casual Ramblers,
This was supposed to be a different type of ramble to start off March. I had a busy week last week, so busy that every chance to write was spent reorganizing my space and donating, selling and gifting from excess collections. Then the weekend happened, America is at war in the Middle East again and I felt hopeless.
So I decided to outline three things that we can do right now to reclaim agency in the political arena.
One of the things I did not outline is that, barring everything else, make sure to reach out to your friends and make plans. I had a friend invite me to a Jamiroquai coverband show out of the blue, and now I’m excited for it.
The lesson: just because it might be the end of the world doesn’t mean we need to act like next week won’t exist.
In the spirit of that, I plan on having more poetry available on the Casual Ramble Patreon page soon. The Casual Camera, meanwhile, is postponed until I can fix up my computer.
An Anti-War protest is scheduled for today on SW 10th and Burnside at 5PM. Another is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, details TBA. Links to act are at the bottom of the post, below the ramble.
Godspeed, good fortune and ramble on,
-The Casual Rambler
I’d like to give thanks to my wonderful patrons, Jennifer, Julie, Michael, Zero, Roshi and Phil, as well as the many free members of the Casual Ramble. Without you, everything that has been would not be and everything that is to come would not happen. This post was released a week early to my Patreon supporters, if you’d like to receive early access to poetry, short films and other works, you can join the Casual Ramble Patreon via the link below!
