A Casual Update: Returned from SOAK

Howdy, Casual Ramblers!

I returned from Tygh Valley on Monday but was so freaking tired that I had no wherewithal to post or mention or do something about it. That is changing now, and here are the first details of what I hope to be a consistent theme for the next month.

It would not have been what it was without my camp, Cats in Space. We absolutely popped off even if the weather prevented SOAK from fully burning down the house. I made genuine connections across the board, developed my improvisational sensibilities as a performer and integrated two years of groundwork practice into my flow art.

It does not get much better than that!

I’ll be sharing more from my time at SOAK next week (Some blog posts, som Patreon exclusives, Casual Camera and all that). Until then, here is a video of me trying to ring the bell to inaugurate my first SOAK before realizing that there ain’t no pulley action.

Derp!

About The Casual Rambler

An insane man moonlighting as a respectable member of society from Portland, Oregon. A rock ‘n’ roller since his mother first spun The Police’s “Roxanne,” Ben is a lover of all things independent music. Once upon a time, a friend told him to write about music. So he started doing that under the title of a Willie Bobo cover by Santana. Now he just casually rambles about whatever crosses his mind.
